Make a donation
Thank you for considering a donation. You have three ways to give:
Direct Giving: Use the form below to donate directly to us by credit card. Eligible donors will receive a single, consolidated tax receipt at the end of the year.
Interac E-Transfer (preferred): You can donate directly via e-transfer at giving@thegoodtable.ca. If you would like a tax receipt at year-end, please include your name and address in the e-transfer message.
Through Canada Helps: If you’d prefer to receive a tax receipt sooner, you can give via Canada Helps. Receipts will be issued immediately by Canada Helps.
Budget Priorities
Your donation will be used to fund the following projects in 2026-2027

The Good Table has been a registered Canadian charity and incorporated for a few years now. Provinces only grant the legal authority to officiate weddings to religious bodies with an established track record, and we've now reached that point. We're beginning to apply across the country so we can credential pastors, chaplains and ministry leaders. Your gift helps cover the applications, fees and paperwork in each province. It means we can restore the right to marry couples for those who lost their ordination, and offer it for the first time to those who were never allowed to be ordained.

We believe we are a community of reciprocity and mutuality. What a gift it is to have enough funds for one staff day a week and a few hours of bookkeeping each month, alongside the many volunteers giving their time across our committees and stewarding this movement. We've now hit a tipping point at the end of 2026.
The priorities our community has agreed on by consensus are bigger than our current budget allows. Your financial gift creates more room for us to build relationships with churches and respond to what our community needs. It also helps us put the legal structures in place to keep serving the gathered churches well.

For four years, volunteers on our Governance Committee have shaped The Good Table's membership framework through listening, prayer and consensus. We've also been following the same process for reimagining ordination.
Many leaders have lost their ordination status, and others were never allowed to be ordained at all. We're co-creating a new container for this process where character is weighed as seriously as theology and accountability happens between peers, not from the top down. This work is shaped by our theological postures and values, and by the wisdom Indigenous theologians around the circle have shared with us.
Your gift helps us finish the process with care and intention, so our leaders have a home that recognizes their calling and walks with them in it.

Cultivating relationships, and gathering around tables together is the foundation of who we are as those finding welcome at the Good Table. This community has moved and co-created together at the speed of trust and trust takes time and presence.
We're connecting with churches across Canada who are in discernment about where they belong. We also gather leaders at retreats and help pastors find each other in local hubs, so no one walks this road alone.
